I volunteered my video services at a local mega church. There was an upcoming community work day and the homeless shelter was one of five stops on that day for me to film. I went to the shelter for three days in a row prior to the work day and this video is the result. Music Credit: Do Not Be Afraid: Kaleb Jones
Out & About in the woods for hours today. Here is a small selection of what I saw.(It is a BEAUTIFUL place). Enjoy-----This shelter is on County Property and is part of a park. It is not monitored and should be professionally excavated. There is a big difference between this rock shelter and smaller ones on Private land. I think this shelter would have so much ground breaking Archaeological Evidence....that a team from a major University should come check it out. I decided to not show the "Mounds" in the area so they are not looted. This is not private land.....so digging this by "anyone" other than a professional would land you in big trouble if caught. This is at a high elevation and wind currents have blown in dust and top soil for the life of this being exposed....there is also erosion...

A few weeks ago (June, 2014), I spent Sunday afternoon with the Top of Ohio Pet Shelter (Bellefontaine, OH) staff and volunteers going over dog behavior and body language, as well as basic dog handling skills for a dog in a shelter environment. I asked for the dog the staff had the hardest time working with, walking, or interacting with. In short, I asked for the dog most likely to be labeled "unadoptable" and hence euthanized at many shelters across the country due to a misunderstanding of dog behavior and how a shelter environment affects the average canine. What they showed me was a young adult male of the bully breed variety that they couldn't touch without the dog jumping on them, pulling them, or knocking them down. This is a completely unscripted, first-time encounter with th...

Life in a shelter can be incredibly stressful for some dogs, which is why one Ohio shelter has set out to make their lives a little bit better. According to CBS, the Toledo Area Humane Society has created what they call the "real life room" to give shelter dogs a break from their kennels. the room is designed to look and feel like a living room and according to shelter workers time in the real life room can do wonders for a dog's temperament. The Toledo Area Humane Society takes in about 5,000 animals every year and hopes that the real life room can help dogs to destress as they await their forever homes. http://www.cbsnews.com/news/toledo-humane-society-real-life-room-makes-shelter-dogs-feel-at-home/ http://www.wochit.com This video was produced by YT Wochit News using http://wochit.com
